The Right Human Hair Extension

So you’re considering getting extensions... First, you want to make sure you’re getting the right kind of hair. If you’re not sure where to start because of the overwhelming number of online stores that sells various types of hair, Aqua Human Hair Extensions is here to guide you.
To start off, it’s important to know that even though some extensions claim to be human, they might not be. Some hair extension companies will mix in animal hair or synthetic hair to save on costs. Make sure you are looking carefully for a reputable company that sources hair ethically and carries high-quality human hair. Now, know that there are only three types of human hair extensions: virgin, remy and non-remy hair.

VIRGIN HUMAN HAIR EXTENSION

Virgin hair is the highest quality human hair extension you can buy. The virgin hair extensions are 100% real human hair with no chemical alterations. This also happens to be the most expensive hair because it lasts longer than the remy hair extension. The reason why it is called virgin is because the hair was never chemically processed while still a part of the donor. Virgin hair also usually comes from younger women with healthy hair, thus there are no grey hairs or split ends. Be sure to get the highest quality virgin hair you can find because some companies tend to use harsh processing for faster production which compromises the quality of the hair. Research and find virgin hair extensions that have undergone an eco-friendly process. If taken care of properly, virgin hair can last up to 2 years.

REMY HUMAN HAIR EXTENSION

Remy hair extensions are the most popular human hair extensions currently because of the high quality and price. The hair can last up to a year. Remy hair means that all the cuticles of the hair are intact and that the hair runs in the same direction at the time of collection. This also means that there is almost no tangling and/or matting should the hair be processed correctly. When it is referred to as “high-quality remy” this means that it was collected directly from a woman’s head while in a ponytail, the cuticles also are intact and the cuticle flow from root to tip. Make sure to keep an eye out for hair that is double drawn, which means that it is all the same length, also make sure the hair is true remy hair that does not tangle.

NON-REMY HAIR EXTENSIONS

Non-remy hair is hair that has been collected off the floor in salons or temples. There are occasions where it is labeled “remy,” but do not be fooled. Because it is collected from the floor the cuticle directions are most definitely mixed, which results in tangling, shedding and matting. To mask this issue, supplies will often use harsh chemicals to strip the cuticles and create a silicone coating to make the hair appear soft and silky. But after a few washes, you’ll notice shedding, tangling and/or matting. For this reason, non-remy hair extensions are only used as temporary hair as they will not tolerate coloring or heat.
