Maintaining Blonde (and Highlighted) Hair Extensions

Blonde Extensions
Do blondes really have more fun? It's a question that's been up for debate for decades! One thing we do know is that maintaining blonde hair extensions can require a few extra steps to make sure that they're both healthy and retain their right tone and intensity.

IS MAINTAINING BLONDE & HIGHLIGHTED HAIR EXTENSIONS DIFFICULT?

Trust us, when you're maintaining your blonde hair extensions properly, it's well worth the additional measures! Even though Aqua Hair Extensions' process includes slowly lifting our extensions for 21 days, our blonde extensions will always require some special care. They are lighter in color, which means they will show blemishes that much faster.HOW DO I PROPERLY MAINTAIN MY BLONDE OR HIGHLIGHTED HAIR EXTENSIONS?
It's vital to wash all of your hair extensions from Aqua Hair Extensions with our specially-formulated Shampoo and Conditioner due to their protein, gluten, sulfate, and paraben-free composition. With any blonde, or closely toned, hair extensions, using any shampoo that contains additional proteins will begin to dry them out.

SHOULD I USE PURPLE SHAMPOO ON MY BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS?

We advise against you using purple shampoo on our extensions, as it deposits very quickly, and if it is left on for too long, it can turn your blonde extensions gray. We always encourage clients to use Aqua's Shampoo and Conditioner because it is formulated for our extensions.

HOW DO I PROTECT MY HAIR EXTENSIONS AGAINST SUN EXPOSURE?

Because of the hair's lightness, blonde hair extensions are the most susceptible to experience damage from heat exposure. Utilizing Aqua Hair Extensions' Leave-In Conditioner is an excellent way to prevent this damage before it even occurs. Before you begin your day, apply our Leave-In Conditioner to make sure that your extensions have protection against the sun's harmful UV rays. As a bonus, it will fight frizz, keep your hair hydrated, and leave you prepared for anything that comes your way!

WHAT CAUSES BLONDE HAIR EXTENSIONS TO CHANGE COLOR?

Because of their light color, blonde hair extensions can easily pick up tones from your environment. Clothing dye, suntan lotion, makeup, and chlorine are just a few examples of some external factors that may cause your golden locks to change color. All of these factors can be minimized by keeping your extensions moisturized with Aqua's Hair Mask and the regular use of our Leave-In Conditioner to maintain the health and integrity of your hair extensions.

You should always remember that healthy, conditioned extensions will appear brighter, shine more, and tangle less! Lastly, don’t forget to brush!
